I am up, showered, ready for church, and drinking HOT coffee for the second day in a row with two sleeping boys in bed still SHOCKINGGGGGG idk whats in the air but im liking it A LOT getting even the 15 min to myself to just sit and drink my coffee and be READY when the boys wake up gives me such a peace of mind and good attitude to start off the day
INSTEAD of feeling far less then decent, running around with my head cut off, and a husband in his pj's still 5 minutes before walking out the door when I could use the help or should i say the "servant" as I would be bossing him around to do stuff for us but instead I know he has to get himself ready
ANYWHOOOO
its going to be a great day i would have to say
did i mention HOT COFFEE
So it has been a little while since I have posted
I really only ever get the chance to do the monthly updates because I have so much other stuff that I should be doing but the monthly growing update is something I do not want to miss out on for later in life to look back on
and to be honest if i do not do it right then and there I start to forget and everything blends together
Okay so Catch Up!
--URIJAH IS IN HIS CRIB --- we are on night 6 of being successful with about 5 previous half nights
this was a big step and I have to say it was probably much harder on Mommy/Daddy then it was for Lil Man who is being a little champ about it! YES I cried the first night! I hated not being able to hear his sleepy noises nor watch him sleep as I drifted off to sleep. Daddy checked on him numerous times and wasnt sleeping well the first nights; He hated the monitor and all the noises he heard and would have to go check on Urijah so we have turned the monitor off for his sanity
It took some getting use to but after a week I have to say we are all doing good
--In 15 days we are headed back to Iowa ---However this time just Urijah and I:( Rocky has to go to Louisiana for some training for the month. Instead of staying here by ourselves we are going back home to be surrounded with family! 1. It will make the time go faster 2. I honestly can say I would have got depressed being here without Rocky and anyone else 3. We will HOPEFULLY (fingers crossed) be in Iowa when the arrival of our new niece/nephew/cousin makes their appearance into the world. Which I am grateful that I will be around to help my sister with the last part of her pregnancy and hopefully the first weeks of motherhood with THREE little peoples running around in her daily life.
--another big update for Urijah (which im sure i will repeat some of this in his 4 month blog post) He is attempting to roll over! He grabs toys and actually plays now! and he can see farther or at least follow us farther away with interest still he will lay in the living room and stair into the kitchen at us! His giggles are getting more frequent and man is he ticklish but he just grunts and holds his breath as he squirms more then laughs hahah
--We as a couple are becoming more normal ---Sounds weird I know but its most defiantly something they dont inform you of nor do you think about when you are prego! they tell you to make time for each other and all that jazz. But you really do go through an adjustment period (ours being about 2 1/2 months) of not only becoming parents and all the new changes as well as joys that that brings. But figuring out each other again, making time for each other, showing love for one another. I would have to say this was probably harder for me and most females as we have a baby attached to us all the time and so "freedom" time of no one touching us well we dont really want to go cuddle up with the hubs we want to sprawl out and relax and not be touched or talked too!!! hahaha When the baby is asleep or goes down for the night you want to zonk out too!! not stay up another hour to have "us" time without baby.
Trust me after a couple months and you (as well as your body) has adjusted these things will be important! Showing love and affection and rekindling where it all started! Life before kids should always remain in a relationship. And since we are not in a location that we can drop the baby off with someone we trust and have a date night we have to work a little extra harder at it! so all in all this is for the hubs GIVE US TIME we will come back to you and becoming more "normal" again. And ladies Dont give up on your man just because your little peeps demand and need so much from you.
This is one of my new years resolutions---to be a better wife and the best mom I can be all wrapped up in one.
But I dont feel bad for those first couple months and its def something that I will pass on to others as I was unaware to expect this and I more then think its normal (or at least I will continue to tell myself that)
Well I hear baby coos so I am headed to get a 2nd cup of coffee that will be cold before I finish
Happy Sunday to all
God Bless
xo xo xo

3 months
It
is still hard to grasp how fast you are growing! You go to bed some nights and just
wake up bigger. You are outgrowing
clothes left and right. You are wearing
a lot of 3-6 months stuff now. Still in
size 2 diapers ---be interesting to see what you weigh next month at the
doctor.
You had a lot of first this month
1. Airplane ride–which you did
awesome at!
2. Visit to Iowa--And you met
so many family members that you had not yet got to see. They all loved on you of course. Jada acted like you where her baby doll and Tucker/McCoy
couldn’t get enough of you! Tucker was
all about giving you a bath and feeding you and McCoy was constantly showing
you toys.
3. 1st snow ---they
got a HUGE blizzard and we didn’t know if our flight was going to make it on
time but it did and Grandpa Chamby picked us up with a very long drive home
4. Celebrated your first
Christmas! Daddy and I are excited for you to get a little bigger so we can
start a lot of family traditions together J we tried to make an
ornament you’re your hand print but it really didn’t work out you are just to
little and wiggly. You got a book “God
Gave Us Christmas” and you will get a new book every year. Mommy also gave you a basketball hoop Daddy didn’t
think this to be to funny! He still thinks you are going to be a wrestler
5. 1st football game
in El Paso at the Sun Bowl when we returned from Iowa. USC vs GT
Your
hands are becoming so active and you can actually hold on to things and grab
toys if they are in your reach too. You
are constantly chewing on your hands and finding your fingers. Sometimes you pop a thumb in there but Daddy
always pulls it out. Usually though you
just chew/eat on your whole fist aaannnddd gag yourself –your hand is bigger than
your mouth silly but you have not figured that out yet. When you play under your play mat you have
just started hitting the toys.
You
cough and when I say “bad cough” or when Daddy calls you “faker” you continue
to do it … its almost like you know how to do it.
While
in Iowa you really started to like your pacifier
You
still LOVE your bathtime and have started to kick and splash around
Bouncey
seat is still your favorite place to nap and your strong legs can seriously kick
you right out of there so we have to start strapping you in
You
have started to try out new items with your new big boy status–highchair,
bumbo, excersaucer etc.
1st
of the year we have started getting you into your crib ….. Daddy is
surprisingly having a harder time with it then Mommy. Yes Mom did cry the first night but Dad couldn’t
sleep and kept checking on you after hearing so many noises over the monitor
until he finally “accidently” woke you up.
Needless to say you where in our room by 11. Now we don’t use the monitor and the last two
nights you have stayed in there a little longer. Making Baby Steps!!!!!
Since
Iowa we have really been off schedule or should I say not on a schedule!! You fight your sleep now and you have become
quite attached to Mommy. You eat
anywhere from 2.5 hrs-4 hours during the day 4.5 oz…. and at night 3-5
hours. I’m ready to be back on schedule,
and just as I get you in one we will be going home again. January 28 we will be flying home to iowa for
the month because Daddy has to go to Louisiana for some training. Hopefully we will be home when your new
cousin is born! But it will be a long month without Daddy around L
Your
hair is still wild
You
yell now .. not just talk but really yell.
And we can get you to giggle on occasion now! It’s the cutest thing ever
and we even got your first one on tape.
You
got so many new toys for Christmas we are excited to play and learn with
them. You will probably be rolling over
by next month. You are holding your head
up so much better not such a wobble head.
You
continue to amaze us baby boo! We are beyond blessed to be your parents and get
the opportunity to watch you grow and change with such an overwhelming feeling
of love.
2 months
You
had your two month checkup today. You
are a growing boy weighing in at 12lbs and 23” long (in the 60% range for both
height and weight and your head is in the 40%).
You are three for three on peeing on the nurse at each of your doctor
visits so far. As soon as that diaper
comes off you spray away, we warned this one at least and she still got it. You
had three shots and I handled them much better than your circumcision. It was a quick scream and cry from you and as
soon as I picked you up you where good to go.
Daddy left the room before they gave them to you (he really hates shots)
he “had” to go get your Tylenol from the pharmacy. You are in a size 2 diapers and 3 month
clothes. I went through your closet and it’s amazing how many clothes you have
outgrown already. You love your baths you are so beyond content in there. You are going longer between feedings finally
which is really nice, usually three hours and at night u r asleep by 9 wake at
2 and then if u wake to eat at 5ish then u go back to sleep till 7ish but
occasionally u sleep till 6 and are up for the day then. You sleep with your hands up above your head
it is the cutest thing! Mommy has had Mastitis twice this month which has
resulted in you getting more bottles.
You have decided you like them better too! You are such a happy camper in the mornings
when you wake up, not always do you want a bottle for a few hours. You like to just lay and talk, chat, smile at
anyone who will listen. It’s my favorite
part of the day now. Your big huge smile
is contagious and your chatty self just makes me fill with happiness. Your big blue eyes are so beautiful I could
stare into them forever while holding your little hand. You like to hold hands when you are eating. And
boy have you found your hands!! You chew on them all the time. You’re holding
your head up better and liking tummy time a little bit more. You still have those goopy eyes due to
clogged tear ducts. We have to strap you
in your bouncer now your legs are so strong!.
We started to test out a new carrier on our walks and you love it which
I am so happy about because will make going through the airport easier. We decided to fly home for Christmas so you
will get another first under your belt! Everyone is so excited to see you and I
am very glad that we will not be driving the 20 hours that’s for sure. Everyone is so excited to meet you and we are
excited to show you off. You where
already so alert but are getting more and more aware, recognize things, and
follow objects. When you wake up you are always so happy and have the biggest
stretches (along with a few toots here and there too) we plan to get this on
tape soon because it is seriously one of the cutest things ever. Grandpa Willie came down and visited again
this month. Wyatt and Kristina came down
to help us celebrate your second holiday, Thanksgiving, with a big feast and
football. Mommy left you for the first
time with Daddy while she did some Black Friday shopping. Your hair is starting to lie down as it grows
and gets longer. I know I am going to
miss those peacock feathers. You are
still sleeping in your rock n play in Mommy and Daddy’s room but Daddy thinks
now that we don’t have company coming down we need to move you to your big boy
bed.
I
don’t think we could possibly love you anymore then we already do. You are amazing baby boy and its overwhelming
how such a little person can change our world more than ever imaginable. Every day I am purely amazed by the things
you do and filled with more joy.
Look
forward to 1. Showing you off to everyone and you getting to meet the rest of
your family 2. Your giggle 3. Rolling
over
